Our Story

As one of the many driven and talented athletes and keenly aware of the blessing it was to be in the less than 2 percentile who have the opportunity to play as a Pro in the NFL, I felt an enormous responsibility to not only set a good example, but to give back in some way. At the time I did not know in what capacity, but I was confident something would reveal itself. Having dealt with many setbacks of my own as a young adult, including the sudden loss of my brother and mentor, I would eventually learn hard work, focus, and determination were the foundations required to move past any possible hurdles. The encouragement and recognition I received back then, when needed most, is ultimately what inspired me to establish the OJ Anderson Scholarship Foundation. Our objective is to give financial assistance to local students who have proven to possess the qualities required which include maintaining a 3.0 GPA or above, demonstrating a financial need, and showing a genuine desire to succeed in whatever educational path they choose. We are not only invested in each recipient's current financial needs, but strive to be a motivating presence they can count on throughout their educational years. I am sincerely fortunate and grateful to have partners who share the same passion and drive in impacting the lives of these young adults.
